We are pleased to announce that Powell Industries is registered with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
What does being ITAR registered mean?
The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are a set of U.S. government regulations that control the manufacture, export, import, and handling of defense-related articles, services, and technical data listed on the United States Munitions List (USML). These regulations are administered by the U.S. Department of State through its Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC).
ITAR registration means Powell Industries has formally registered with the DDTC and complies with the regulatory requirements necessary to support customers and partners operating within the defense and aerospace industries.
When it comes to ITAR registration, it means Powell Industries has demonstrated the ability to meet important compliance standards within our industry, including:
• Maintaining strict controls over defense-related products, technical data, and documentation to prevent unauthorized access or export.
• Ensuring that sensitive information and controlled items are handled, stored, and shared in accordance with U.S. export control regulations.
• Implementing internal procedures and oversight to ensure compliance with ITAR requirements throughout our organization.
• Supporting customers and partners who operate in regulated aerospace and defense supply chains.
ITAR registration reinforces our commitment to compliance, security, and responsible participation in the aerospace and defense industries. It reflects Powell Industries’ dedication to protecting controlled technologies while maintaining the operational discipline required to support our customers at the highest level.
